Back In The Village###

We met back up with Vicky and headed to Brothers Beer for a few beers.
Really had to try the Panhead - Regal Bogan, it’s a nice enough lager but the name is fantastic.

Regal Bogan

The plan had been to meet up with Rick (who joined us in session 3), but we didn’t make it into town early enough and he then headed back to the suburbs before the show.

We stayed at brothers beer for a few rounds and had planned on staying later but with Vicky’s foot injury it made sense to get there early again, this time we caught a taxi and got dropped right outside Vector.

Terry was looking at the merchandise stands outside which were packed, I assured him there would be ones inside, we rounded the first corner where I had remembered a stand from the Sabbath show and there was no stand. I wasn’t concerned but Terry looked worried, we caught the lift up by now Terry’s panic around merchandise stands passed to me, the doors opened as I was saying “I’m sure there will be one” and a merchandise stand was reviled.
We all brought a t-shirt each and I picked up the other flag (Terry had brought the first flag in Christchurch which we used to decorate the Dunedin room).

I brought a Monteiths Pilsner and checked this in to untappd only to find there was Trooper for sale some where in the Arena. The hunt was on, this wasn’t very hard as it was the being sold in the Heineken green room…. Only I was to late and it had just sold out.

Watched Raven Age and Terry pointed out he might enjoy them more with thrash vocals, I agree and also think they need more treble in the guitars to cut through the bass layer. This would really be changing them into another band.

The wait started, We listened out for Doctor Doctor, The sign Maiden would be starting.

Watching from the seats really showed the concert as a theatrical production.

Big Eddie

Great view, around eye level with the band. We realised how much of the lighting effects, pyro (though we felt it from the front row) and overall performance we missed being so close on the first night.
Both ways were great to see the show.

Number of the Beast

I liked the fact he mixed in “scream for me New Zealand” among the “scream for me Auckland”. I wonder if this is a nod to the amount of people who travel to see the shows.

Update on my neck, have just been to doctor and then had an X-Ray.
